This GoFundMe is being set up by Katie and a family friend, Taylor for Anna Hammers large medical expenses.
On Dec 20, 2020 Anna fell and suffered a spiral fracture to her left femur. She had surgery in which the doctor installed two rods and some pins to put her leg back together. She also received some blood transfusions.
Recovery is complicated by arthritis, age, and softening bones. Anna was taking vitamins and other supplements, but it was discussed that her body is lacking in iron, so that was added to her daily routine.
After several weeks there are subtle improvements, but she still requires assistance getting in and out of bed. She can barely bend her knee, and cannot sit up for extended periods of time.
In a few months she will be eligible for Medicare, but unfortunately that is not retroactive!
The family is very grateful for the many prayers as well as the meals that some friends have provided.
