Today, July 12, 2026, our family experienced a tragedy that no family should ever have to face. My 27-year-old sister was killed in a rollover car accident. She was ejected from the vehicle and, despite every hope, sadly passed away from her injuries.

Our hearts are shattered. She was so much more than a daughter, sister, family member, and friend—she was an incredible person who touched the lives of everyone she met.

She worked at Miller Swim School, where she loved helping children learn to swim and build confidence in the water. She was also an amazing healthcare worker who dedicated herself to caring for others with compassion, patience, and kindness. Helping people wasn't just her job—it was who she was.

Anyone who knew my sister knew she had the most beautiful personality. She had a heart full of love, endless empathy, and a kindness that made everyone around her feel seen, valued, and cared for. She was the kind of person who would always put others before herself, offer a listening ear, or do whatever she could to brighten someone's day. She had a smile that could light up a room, and a spirit that made the world a better place.

At just 27 years old, she had so much life ahead of her. She had dreams, goals, and countless more lives to touch. While nothing can ever replace her, we want to honor her life with the beautiful service she deserves.

As we struggle to come to terms with this unimaginable loss, we are also faced with the unexpected cost of giving her the funeral and memorial she deserves.

My parents are both retired, in their mid-70s, and living on a fixed income. They have even discussed taking out a mortgage on their home just to cover the funeral expenses. No parents should ever have to worry about losing their home while grieving the loss of their daughter.
