Ann Manty Serbus’s Story
With Ann’s blessing we are sharing her story. Anyone who knows Ann knows it took a lot of talking and convincing for her to agree to allow us to set up a GoFundMe page as Ann is usually the one helping others, not the other way around.
On Monday, July 5th, Ann was busy doing what Ann does, helping others. What started as a kindhearted gesture quickly turned into a traumatic, scary, and dangerous situation. Ann was helping a friend landscape their yard, when 2 large dogs attacked her. Ann suffered severe injuries, with the most severe on her back, arm and leg. She was in the emergency room for 9 hours and they stitched up some of her injuries but others, like some of the puncture wounds were left open. Ann is currently seeing a plastic surgeon so they can clean and monitor her wounds as one has become infected. A group of Ann’s close friends are helping her with self-care and house work as she is unable to put any weight on her leg due to the injuries. Ann will have to continue to visit the plastic surgeon and have multiple surgeries/skin grafts to repair the damage, which means she will be off work.
Ann is a single income, self-employed mom. There is no paid time off or disability income to help offset her living and medical expenses. Ann is such a kind, loving, giving, and selfless person that we wanted to set up this fund to give back to her in this difficult time. Please share this post and give if you are able. If you are unable to give, no worries, just keep Ann in your thoughts and prayers or maybe send a card to her at PO Box 522, Kimball MN 55353. Thank you.
