Greetings from Ann & Jeff Otto!!! :) :)
As many of you know, Ann was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in October 2016. Average life expectancy is 2-5 years after initial symptom onset, which was Summer 2015. We are making a bucket list so we can plan adventures, spend time and create memories! :)
I managed to turn Ann into a hockey fan this year. We've been to a couple junior hockey games, but she really wants to attend an NHL game. I've arranged a trip to southern California for us to attend 2 NHL games and 1 AHL (minor league) game on Dec 30 - Jan 1.
Many of you have offered to help us and we have cherished your love, prayers and support. This is our first request for your help: help us make this adventure possible!! Again, it's more than just attending some hockey games; it's about sharing an adventure and creating memories that will last a lifetime! And given that Ann's "lifetime" just got incredibly shortened, you can appreciate the urgency of our request.
We hope to raise $3000 to pay for game tickets, fuel, food, lodging and incidentals on our 5 day adventure. We'll leave on Dec 29th and travel to San Jose, CA. On Dec 30th we'll attend the San Jose Sharks vs. Philadelphia Flyers hockey game. On Dec 31st we'll travel to Ontario, CA and watch a minor league between the Ontario Reign and Stockton Heat. We'll also enjoy a laser light & firework show after the game! On Jan 1st we'll travel to Anaheim and watch the Anaheim Ducks vs. Philadelphia Flyers. On Jan 2nd we'll head for home.
