My name is Stephanie, and I'm heartbroken to be writing this for my best friend of over 30 years, Ann Holt. Ann, who has been like a sister to me since middle school, is at the very end of her life. In times of such profound loss and sudden challenges, coming together to support one another is how we honor those we love.

A few months ago, Ann was living her normal life, filled with kindness, a love for cooking, crafting, and her recent passion for gemology and rock hunting. She was incredibly proud of her son, Zach, often saying he was the best thing she ever did in life, and that joy only grew with her two beloved grandkids. Ann was a truly generous soul; if you were hungry, she'd feed you whether she knew you or not.

What started as Ann seeking help for pain at the Emergency Room quickly escalated into an admission to the hospital, where she was given the devastating news of a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis within a week. The cancer had aggressively metastasized to her liver from an unknown source. This progression was shockingly swift and brutal. I told Ann to "suit up" for battle, confident she'd emerge "wearing the crown." Her response, true to her unique spirit, was that she'd be wearing the "kaftan." Tragically, she never even had the chance to begin treatment; her body struggled too much, too quickly, even after a port was placed for chemotherapy.

Today, Ann has transitioned to hospice care. This rapid decline has been a profound shock, not only to her closest circle, but it will also come as a surprise to many, as Ann chose to keep her battle private, sharing her struggle with only a few trusted individuals.

Now, as her time with us comes to an end, we are reaching out for your support to help ease the burden of her final expenses. As Ann's loved ones are spread across the country, we anticipate there will be multiple, personal celebrations of her life in various locations, but these funds are specifically for her direct end-of-life and final arrangements.

The funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly towards:
