Hi, my name is Mary, and I'm reaching out as a loving granddaughter of my wonderful grandma, Ann Grant, aka "Annie". Annie has been a resident of Sayville for 59 years, surrounded by so many who love her, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews and so many more. This is a woman who has always figured it out, I can personally say been the backbone of our family, and hasn't had to depend on anyone since her husband had passed 34 years ago. A woman who has fought not only one, but two battles of breast cancer and won, and has undergone multiple heart surgeries and still continued to come out on top. Now she faces yet another battle after having a stroke on July 17th, 2025. As the strong and independent woman you all know, this has not been easy but she continues to push through every hurdle that has come her way. Annie has never asked anyone for anything, so I will. She is currently in a rehab center where she will begin healing and relearning how to walk, talk, and take care of herself. In order for her to come home, we will need to put some safety precautions in place. She will need a bathroom with a walk-in-shower and a few other safety features to make this transition as seamless as possible. Any help is so appreciated, she has always been there for everyone else and we want her to be as comfortable as possible for this next chapter of life.
