Hi, my name is Aimee and I’m setting up this go fund me to help raise funeral expenses for my mum who passed suddenly in the early hours of the 19th September. In April my mum became unwell and was being told by GP’s and hospital staff that it was IBS. It wasn’t until July when she became really unwell that I took her to the hospital and the doctor agreed a scan. This found that my mum had pancreatic cancer. She was meant to be referred for the 2 week wait but it wasn’t done and we had to go back to the GP 2 weeks later and the GP but her in for the 2 week wait. By the time we got to see the specialist she was very poorly. The specialist stated she needed an operation to put a stent in her bile duct. This happened on the 20th August. After a week feeling poorly and having pains the doctors finally agreed to a CT scan which revealed our worst nightmare. The stent had perforation the bile duct in a complication. It is a rare complication at 0.6%. My mum was told that she couldn’t have surgery to correct it but fought and fought but to cut a long story short, she passed away on the 19th September with her family and friends around her. My mum has been referred to the coroners and we still can not register her death at the time of this but as she died suddenly after 4 weeks in hospital from what was meant to be a 4 days stay, we are having to find the funeral expenses to cremate my mum and give her the send off she deserves. She touched a lot of peoples lives and was a larger than life character. She deserves a good send off.
