I'm reaching out to friends, family and the community to help Sofia and Grace through the tragic and unexpected loss of their beloved mother, Anjane Keagan who passed away peacefully today on January 22nd 2017, from a pulmonary embolism at the young age of 36.

Those who knew Anjane knew she had been struggling with health issues (Crohn's and unexplainable chronic pain) for over the past 2 years. Her significant time in the hospital eventually lead to her having to give up her job and robbed her of the opportunity to spend time with the people she loved the most, her girls, Sofia and Grace, her husband Bob and Ruby (dog) too!

Her illness took a turn for the worse on Monday and we waited by her side in ICU for 6 days, coming to the realization that she would not be coming home :(

She was surrounded by friends and family. As her last act of kindness, Anjane gave the life-giving gift of her organs so that other families may have some happy news.

As there was no life insurance in place, and with the challenges of not having steady income for the past 2 years, Sofia's friend Kenzie helped us set up this fund in the hopes of raising enough to give Anjane the kind of farewell that the girls want to honour her with: not lavish or grandiose, but an intimate send-off befitting her humble and dedicated nature. Any additional funds will help support the girls' education and other financial needs.

Please note that all funds raised will be transferred directly from GoFundMe to Bob Shanahan, the girls' stepfather and Anjane's husband.
