Many of you know that my mom, Anita, had to have a hip replacement this past December, because she has severe arthritis and degeneration of her joints. When they went in to do the replacement, they discovered that she had an existing fracture in the hip joint as well. The recovery process took quite a bit longer than expected. She was out of work for 6-8 weeks for that surgery, using up all of her remaining sick and personal days. 

Shortly after returning to work about three weeks ago, the pain in her hip returned, with a vengeance. This past week, we found out that because of the old fracture, the new implant has settled and shifted, and is no longer in the correct position. My mom is having a hard time walking any distances. Also, this puts her at risk of breaking her hip again. She was told this week that she must have another hip replacement in just a few weeks. This is not the news we wanted or expected. 

With all of this being said, she will be out of work for another 6-8 weeks, maybe longer. This time though, she has no sick or personal days, which essentially means she will go without pay for two months. She is already anxious enough about going through the pain and recovery process a second time. I don’t want her to have the burden of bills and life on top of that. Every little bit of support will help get her through this a second time. 

She is not one to ask for or accept help, but we all need it sometimes. Please pray for all of us and especially my momma, as we get ready for this process again.
