Hello! My name is Anisa Deitrick, and I'm a sophomore in high school in Colorado. I am a straight-A honors student taking 2 AP classes and maintaining a 4.25 GPA. Ever since I was a kid, I've always been fascinated by space. From learning about planets and stars to studying spacecraft, my passion has always been studying the universe and finding my place in it.
This summer, I've been given the amazing opportunity to attend the “National Student Leadership Conference” (NSLC) for Aerospace at Johns Hopkins University. This incredible program will allow me to explore aerospace engineering and different technologies through hands-on projects, simulations, and workshops. I'll also get to work with industry experts, tour state-of-the-art facilities such as NASA, and collaborate with other students who share my passion.
This experience will give me important skills, connections, and insights that will help shape my future in the aerospace field. It also provides letters of recommendation and other important information that will help me in my college search process.
However, attending the program comes with expenses, including tuition and travel, which I cannot cover on my own.
I was awarded a wonderful $1,500 scholarship for the program, but there is still much left.
The program tuition before my scholarship was $4,195. After my scholarship, the tuition cost is reduced to $2,695. Other expenses include $800 for travel and food. The total assistance I'm hoping to receive is $3,495.
I'm asking for your support to help me take this important step toward my dream of working in the space industry. I appreciate every donation, no matter the size, as my goal is to take this financial burden off my parents as much as I can.
Your help will bring me closer to making this opportunity a reality.
Thank you for helping me reach for the stars!
