Help animals at Didim shelter get medical care and resources
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Maggie and I am a volunteer for the animal shelter and CoDa animal rescue charity in Didim, Türkiye.
Every week we help the shelter walk the dogs, clean cages, feed the animals, do routine health reports and raise issues of any health concerns among the animals.
The volunteers and the charity help a lot. We bring the dogs better quality food, raise awareness, foster and provide assistance with adoption, including overseas adoption. We collect animals in need of medical care from the streets and those that need to be neutered. But there are some things we are struggling to do without your help…
The shelter is lacking space. The funding is not enough to provide sterile space or appropriate conditions, some dogs are kept in cages of 4-12 dogs regardless of ongoing infections and health conditions. The vets are doing their best to provide help, but they lack resources and facilities to deal with everything that comes their way. Every week, we lose animals to diseases such as parvovirus, leishmania and mange. Barely any puppies make it out alive due to lack of appropriate quarantine facilities.
We need help. We need resources to provide sick animals and animals with special conditions appropriate veterinary care and specialist treatments. We need more resources, such as the only available preventative for leishmania - collars which cost around 4,500 tl each. We need better and more sterile living conditions for the animals.
Every little helps. Every £100 raised can prevent a dog dying from leishmania. Every £15 can provide a bag of quality pet food. Every £200 can take a sick animal to a specialist clinic for treatment.
You may not be able to save the world, but you can definitely save a life.
100% of donations will be used towards the treatment and care of animals in Didim shelter. Receipts will be collected and shared on my social media pages.
