As a dedicated animal supporter, I am reaching out to you today to share our mission and ask for your generous support.

There are things that should not be ignored or looked away from. If you do, hope disappears from this world.

Thirty years ago I moved from Germany to Portugal to work in the fashion industry. A year later, I was the proud owner of three stray dogs. That was the beginning of our shelter adventure, which consists today of 48 dogs and over 60 cats. We take in any stray animals or dogs neglected by their owners. Over 600 dogs and 150 cats found a new loving family.

At our sanctuary, we are committed to providing a safe haven for animals in need, offering them shelter, care, and a second chance at a happy life. We are holding on tight and became real McGivers. What others sees as garbage, like tire straps, old wooden boards etc…, we have turned into solutions. Every day, we witness heartwarming stories of transformation as neglected and abandoned animals find love and care within our walls.

However, maintaining our operations and providing quality care for our furry residents requires substantial financial resources. Which until now have been funded privately. Tire straps are no longer enough. We won’t make it another winter. The northern Portuguese winters are very rainy, and the roofs are leaking. The 50 year old walls of the buildings we have turned into shelters, are at risk to collapse.

As a non-profit organization, we rely heavily on the generosity of individuals like you to continue our lifesaving work.

• Inside and outside refurbishing of the existing spaces

• Construction materials, flooring, pluming, isolation

• Wages for the labour workers
