Help Us Save Qatar's Forgotten Strays
Hi, my name is Tamie.
What began as helping a few stray animals quickly became a mission that has changed my life.
When I arrived in Qatar, I was shocked by the number of cats and dogs struggling to survive on the streets. Every day, I encountered animals suffering from hunger, dehydration, illness, injury, abandonment, and neglect. Many had no access to regular food, clean water, medical care, or safe shelter. In the intense summer heat, where temperatures regularly exceed 45°C (113°F), survival becomes even more difficult.
I couldn't look away.
Today, through Streets of Stray, our very small volunteer team feeds more than **200 stray cats every single night** and cares for **55+ rescued cats currently awaiting adoption**. We rescue abandoned pets, orphaned kittens, injured animals, and urgent medical cases that would otherwise have little chance of survival.
Many of these cats require weeks or even months of medical treatment before they are healthy enough to find homes. We work tirelessly to place them with loving families both locally and internationally, giving them a second chance at life.
Despite the scale of the work, there is no large organization behind us.
No corporate funding.
No government support.
Just a few dedicated volunteers giving their time, energy, and personal resources to help animals that have nowhere else to turn.
Every day is a race against time. While we celebrate happy endings and successful adoptions, there are always more animals waiting for help. More injured cats need treatment. More hungry mouths to feed. More abandoned pets are left behind. More kittens are born on the streets.
Our goal is not simply to keep these animals alive.
Our goal is to give them a chance to truly live.
Through colony management, rescue, medical care, educating the youth, foster homes, adoption programs, and TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return)/spay and neuter efforts, we work to reduce suffering while creating a more sustainable future for stray animals.
The Reality We Face
The need continues to grow faster than our resources.
Our current daily operational costs far exceed the income and support we receive. Food, veterinary care, medications, emergency treatments, transportation, and rescue supplies add up quickly, and the demands never stop.
At this moment, we have **more than 90,000 QAR in outstanding veterinary bills that require urgent payment**, in addition to the ongoing costs of caring for hundreds of animals every day.
We urgently need support from compassionate people around the world who believe these animals deserve a chance.
How Your Donation Helps
100% of funds raised will go directly toward:
Feeding over 200 stray cats every night
Emergency veterinary treatment
Hospitalization and surgeries
Vaccinations
TNR = spay and neuter programs
Medications and ongoing medical care
Rescue supplies, carriers, crates, bedding, and litter
Foster support
Adoption and rehoming efforts
Food and essential care for rescued cats awaiting homes
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference.
The cost of a single coffee can help feed a hungry cat. A larger donation can help save an injured animal, fund a life-changing surgery, or prepare a rescued cat for adoption.
We are committed to transparency and will continue sharing updates, rescue stories, and the impact your support makes possible.
Meet Juju
Juju was one of our very first Qatar rescues.
When we found him, he could barely see or breathe. He was very sick, vulnerable, and struggling to survive.
Today, Juju is healthy, safe, and thriving.
His transformation is proof that rescue works.
It is proof that every life matters.
And it is proof that when people come together, incredible things can happen.
Thank you for helping us give these animals the second chance they deserve.
Whether you donate, share our story, foster, adopt, or simply help spread awareness, you become part of the solution.
Together, we can save lives, reduce suffering, and create a brighter future for Qatar's forgotten strays.
With gratitude,
Tamie

Meet Buddy - One of the sweetest little guys you will meet. An infection took both of his eyes before he was even 8 weeks old. He was left alone to die with no food, water, or shade from the sun. He spent countless days and nights with no one and no treatment to save his eyes. It was a blessing that we found him and were able to place him in a local shelter run by the most amazing family in Qatar!!
There are many more stories, so stay tuned and follow us. Instagram
We can save these precious souls and find them a new best friend with your help. Thank you.
