My mother, Brenda Leigh, passed away yesterday after a battle with stage 4 pancreas cancer that hit our family like a hurricane.  Only 2-3 short months after her diagnosis she laid to rest forever and finally in no pain.     She crossed the rainbow bridge where she will be reunited with several of her animals that she lost in recent years.  

My mother was an avid dog rescuer and lover and anyone that knew her, knows what she did for the animal community.   She didn't even want a funeral, service, or viewing because she thought it was a waste of money and would rather that money have been used towards animal rescue.   Well, we are honoring that wish and raising money for the shelter where she spent endless hours.   The Lewis/Upsher County Animal Shelter in Buckhannon, WV will be the recipient of this GoFundME page.   I am personally going to make sure the money goes to animal rescue, spay, neuters and the cat sanctuary that she started there.  They don't even know that we are doing this so it's going to be a terrific surprise in my mothers honor to be able to give this money to them.   We are also donated all the left over items that my mom had stored up in her closet that consisted of dog bowls, toys, pads, blankets, cages, crates and many other items.  

My mother made many friends as a dog rescuer but as many passionate dog rescuers know, the passion can also create tension between people.  She was tenacious and gritty but she got the job done the way she wanted it and how she wanted it.  There was no stopping her.   Thank you for loving and caring for my mother and let this fundraiser honor her works over the last 15 years!!
