Animal Life Saving Transport Van Replacement
UPDATE: Thanks to your generosity and support, we are thrilled to report we have met our goal and will be able to replace the van! We will be leaving the fund open and any donations received after 4/24 will be used to support the expenses related to transports (fuel, maintenance, insurance, etc). We ask that you continue to keep Dane and his family in your prayers and we will provide updates as they become available regarding his recovery. We know he will be excited to hear we have a new van waiting for him to come back to! Thank you all - PCHS Volunteers
On 4/14/20, while driving the shelter van on a transport our amazing volunteer Dane was in a very serious accident and passed away peacefully with his family by his side. We ask for prayers for his family as they pick up the pieces and move forward without him. Dane dedicated his life to transporting dogs and cats to safe no-kill shelters that would otherwise be euthanized at the high kill shelters they are in. Dane drove each week from Southern IL to Chicago and saved dozens of pets per weekend!
Along with prayers for Dane’s family we need to ask for financial assistance so we can get a transport van back on the road ASAP.
Perry County Humane Society handles the maintenance etc of the van but it is for the use of life saving animal transport for 20 PLUS animal controls/facilities. The majority of these are HIGH KILL facilities and this is the only means of ground transport to northern no kill shelters and their safety.
Please help us get back on the road and to saving lives. Insurance will be covering less than half of the cost of a van.
Donations will go directly to the purchase of a new van and expenses related to transports.
Sharing some pictures that represent just a small sampling of the lives that are saved every week and why this van is so essential.
Thank you and please share!
