Anika was born with an extraordinary heart--medically speaking. It took many surgeries and one of the best medical teams in the world to solve the puzzle that is Anika. Yay Children's Hospital of Philadelphia...you ROCK!
For the past 13 years, Anika has grown and dazzled us with her extraordinary heart--as a person. A lover of animals, especially endangered ones.
A knack for fashion and crafts--she can 'arm knit' a mean scarf. Along with her friends, she's created award-winning films (who can forget the Emmaus Hot Dog Wars?!) and elaborate school presentations that are funny, smart, and oh so well performed. Not to mention her many theatrical performances.
And can Anika cook and bake! I know many more adventures await her, and it will be a joy to see what the future has in store for her. But right now I am asking you to show your love and support to Anika...Courtney, John, and Malena...as they face heart surgery on February 9th to replace the repair that has served Anika so well for 13 years--and will insure that the coming years are equally bright.
Please help us support the Matthews-Stetz family during Anika's time in the hospital and the month-plus recovery ahead. Your donation will contribute to everything and anything to offset the expenses of hotel, food, dog boarding or just bring a smile to their faces.
