When Anielka was born, no one suspected that her life would be such a difficult and uneven fight. At first, she was developing in her own pace but we started noticing, more and more often, that something was not right. She was not crawling, did not make attempts to stand up and did not have the same reactions as her peers. At that time, our long journey, full of anxiety and uncertainty, began.

After many consultations, there was a diagnosis: focal epilepsy. For parents, it sounds like a sentence. Even before we were able to come to terms with this information, the doctors started suspecting a genetic disorder, Rett syndrome. They ordered genetic tests that are to confirm or rule out the worst scenarios. Just before Christmas worst

Anielka is currently two years old. She does not walk, speak or communicate in a way that we could understand. We start each day with antiepileptic drugs and exercise. Rehabilitation, physiotherapy, neurological speech therapy and sensory integration therapy are a part of her everyday life. Although she is tired and demotivated at times, she always fights bravely.

The smallest progress or hand movement, look or a gesture are a great joy and a sign that this fight is not pointless. However, Anielka needs constant specialist care and therapies to make sure her progress does not stop. All the funds from this fundraiser will be used for further treatment and neurological diagnostics, rehabilitation and supportive therapies, antiepileptic drugs, genetic tests and consultations with specialist and to cover the cost of transportation to the facilities in Gdańsk.

On 12 December 2025, our hearts stopped for a moment. And then they broke into a million pieces. Our little daughter was diagnosed with Rett syndrome. It is a very rare, cruel neurodevelopmental disease that, step by step, takes away from girls all the skills they have acquired – one after another.

Not long ago, our Anielka was full of life. As a six‑month‑old baby she picked up food in her little hands, played with toys, discovered the world. When she was eight months old, she said “mama”, “tata”, “baba”. Today she cannot eat on her own or make precise movements. She no longer says syllables. She babbles… and we cling to every sound as if it might be the last.

Anielka does not walk, she does not crawl. But every day she fights. On the rehabilitation mat, in the arms of physiotherapists, in our embrace. Every day means exercises, tears and exhaustion… In these difficult days we look for the one tiny spark of light: gene therapy, which is already at an advanced stage of development. It is a huge breakthrough in medicine. It is the hope that the regression can stop, that our child will get a chance for a future. But we know that the cost of such treatment is counted in millions of Pounds… sums completely beyond our reach.

Before that day comes, however, we have to fight for the “here and now”. For every skill, for every moment of eye contact, for every smile. For slowing the relentless march of the disease and giving Anielka the best possible quality of life.

My name is Andrzej Jasieniecki and I am Anielka's uncle. I created this fundraiser to support Anielka and her parents with the very high, ongoing medical costs.

All funds from this fundraiser will be used for Anielka’s medical needs, paying for bill directly or transfering founds to Anielka,s parents to use for:
  • ongoing neurological diagnostics and specialist consultations,
  • regular rehabilitation, physiotherapy, neurological speech therapy and sensory integration therapy,
  • antiepileptic medication and other prescribed drugs,
  • genetic tests and any further medical investigations recommended by her doctors,
  • travel costs to specialist facilities in Gdańsk (fuel/transport and, when needed, accommodation).

We ask you from the bottom of our hearts: please help us save our little girl. Every bit of support, every kind word, every donation is a sign for us that in this hardest time we are not alone. With gratitude and hope.
