Angus’ Wheelchair Fund
Angus is ten and was born with Spina Bifida alongside many other complications including a visual impairment and autism. He uses a wheelchair to keep up with his friends, participate in sports and give him independence and freedom due to his limited mobility. His lightweight day chair lets him be independent and mobile in his day to day life.
He is determined and resilient- taking part in two wheelchair sports competitively: WCMX and Wheelchair basketball. He loves them. They give
him freedom and the ability to compete in a way that he can’t using his legs. In his short life he has achieved so much and made us so proud coming 5th in the beginners category of the WCMX world championships and now training with the Thames Valley Kings wheelchair basketball club. These help him to overcome his social anxieties, feel confident in his own abilities and have a peer group that inspire him.
Angus is growing and this sadly means he has outgrown his day chair and his WCMX chair. We can’t imagine what his life would be like without access to the freedom given to him by this equipment. We hate to ask for help, but it’s hard to think about how much independence Angus will lose if he doesn’t have the wheels he needs to thrive.
Anything , however small, that you can spare towards this would be greatly appreciated and help keep Angus mobile and able to live his life to the fullest.
Thank you
