One Island, Hundreds of Strays
Hi, I’m Erda, a medical student currently living and studying on the beautiful island of Anguilla. For over a year now, I’ve been feeding stray dogs and cats across the island completely on my own. Whenever I see a hungry animal, I stop, feed them, and give them the care I can.
Sadly, the culture here doesn’t really prioritize animal welfare. Many people don’t see animals as companions, and neglect or mistreatment is far too common. Countless dogs and cats are left to wander the streets, starving, malnourished, sick, injured, or afraid.
This is a personal mission. I’m not affiliated with any rescue or animal care organization. It is something I’ve taken to heart, a mission I’ve carried alone, using my own time and money.
Whether it’s early mornings, between classes, or after long hours of studying, I pack up food and drive around the island, feeding every stray I can find. When I can, I also provide basic care: deworming, flea treatment, and clean water.
And every time, it’s a tail that starts to wag again.
But the need is growing, and I can’t do it alone anymore. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
Your donation will directly support:
• Food and clean water for strays across the island
• Basic medical care (flea and deworming treatments)
• Emergency help for injured or malnourished animals
• Simple feeding stations with shelter from sun and rain
These animals don’t have voices, but they feel hunger, fear, love, and hope. I believe every life matters, even the ones with paws and whiskers. And if you do too, I invite you to join me.
Together, we can make one tail wag at a time.
With love and hope,
Erda
