Anglers Rest Bushfire Support

Update March 30: We’ve made a list of what the valley community wants for the next round of fires, mostly revolving around communications. Things are moving slowly, partly due to the virus, partly to make sure we get it right, and partly due to how remote we are. Rest assured we’ll keep all donors posted on progress towards providing uhf radios, better mobile reception, fire radios, charging batteries for all those things, a chopper pad, and more. Thanks again for your generosity! Hi, I'm Jeffe Aronson. We just had our second enormous bushfire to go through our valley in 20 years. Cath's ranch lost much of their fencing, all of their hay, and 80% of their pasture. Hercules Mick's family lost all their water and electricity hoses, sheds and basically everything but the main house. The fire was very very stressful and exhausting, but looks to be under control at the moment. Though the fire season remains. This fund is meant to support recovery and replacement efforts after the fire is out and we assess total damages. Since it's not over yet we can't know exactly what it will go towards, except to say it will go 100%  to pay for future fire protection and prevention items for our valley, as well as help repair and replace things for those who have had losses. We will let every donor know exactly what we end up doing with it, item by item, once the onslaught is over with. It might go towards future safety items like Fire radios, another water tank, hose and pump for vehicles for next time, etc. Zero will go towards salaries or admin. We've had a number of folks ask where they could donate, so here it is. Millions have been raised nationally, however this fund will be specific to losses and future protection for our Bundara Valley, Anglers Rest Victoria. I will be withdrawing all funds directly into my personal account, we will then hold a community meeting, and come to a consensus about what the money will be spent on.
