Angies wheelchair

April 2008:
Hi, I am Angie, My story begins...
I fell and gained a "Collis" fracture of my left wrist.
An operation with wires was inserted to help it heal.
Symptoms of burning, freezing, sweating, swelling, colour changes, over sensitive to touch, wind and water, twisting, and unable to move my fingers.
I felt something was very, very wrong.
My diagnosis was COMPLEX REGIONAL PAIN SYNDROME (CRPS).
Ongoing hand therapies, splints, another 'op, my fingers were retracting into a claw and my nails growing into my palm.
My wrist was solid, no movement, my hand angular and the pain was excruciating.
August 2009:
The same arm, another fall.
A shoulder fracture and shattered elbow.
Two titanium rods inserted into my arm.
CRPS moved to the whole limb.
My arm had contracted up to my neck.
Pain was unbearable.
October 2011:
Left arm amputated.
Pain and CRPS still very active now in the phantom limb.
January 2012:
Slipped on spot of water in the kitchen.
A fractured fibula to the right leg.
Put into a moon boot to try and aid recovery.
That same evening, all the same symptoms of CRPS were evident in my foot and leg.
With ongoing 'ops, castings, botox injections I was unable to weight bear.
We purchased an " off the shelf" wheelchair which I might add is apparently not suitable for every day use.
My foot is very swollen, angled inwards, shrunken in length, over sensitive and ugly.
Unable to wear any footwear.
My leg has contracted under my wheelchair due to CRPS.
There is no cure for CRPS as yet.
Febuary 2019:
I am wheelchair dependant and 7 years on, a lighter, easier to maneouvre and personalised wheelchair for me to accommodate my disabilities would make my life just a little easier.
This wheelchair is expensive as it needs to be engineered, manufactured and assembled in America.

For more information on the company that manufactures these wheelchairs, please feel free to visit www.permobil.com.au TiLite options.
I would also like to mention that some of the employees with their expertise work from their own wheelchairs for Permobil.

This is my story condensed. I don't want sympathy or pity, I won't ever walk again but my life goes on.
I choose to remain as mobile for as long as possible in a wheelchair.
It is expensive due to the precision, engineering and assembly.
My hubby and I are both pensioners and to date  we have never received any funding at all in ten years and 10 months from any government agency.
We still have a lot of living to do the best way we can.
If you are able to help with funding it would be so appreciated and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
