Angie's Endo Battle

Hello, I'm setting up this GoFundMe for my beautiful wife, Angela Roelse. She is the mother of our two beautiful daughters and the cofounder of our marriage ministry. She is only 35 years old and has been fiercely battling stage 4 endometriosis for 18 years and multiple other autoimmune diseases (Lyme, POTS and IC). Angela has already undergone six surgeries to help find relief from the bondage of this terrible disease, yet she continues to be a warrior. While some of those previous surgeries have given her some relief, her endometriosis is back and worse than it ever has been. As I watch her in her day-to-day routine, attempting to be the mother and woman she has always wanted to be and who God is calling her to be, I’ve begun to see the fight within her starting to fade. At this point, another surgery is needed to help give her a better quality of life and a fighting chance at being the woman she so desires to be (loving and serving those around her). Unfortunately, having this many surgeries, treatments, and other health battles, finances for her next surgery have become a challenge.

This next surgery is anticipated to be her most complicated to date, and recovery could be longer. It will involve traveling out of state yet again to a specialist capable of handling her rare and complex case. The surgery will include laparoscopy and a thoracotomy (a surgery that is performed between the ribs and deflation of the lung) to remove any damaged tissue on vital organs endometriosis has invaded, including the lung and possibly the spine. She has already had a lobectomy of her right lung, which was an arduous recovery. Even knowing the recovery will be long and complex, we are all excited to see God move and heal the woman/mother/wife/friend we all love so much.
