Angie’s Angels

Donation protected
I am starting this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of my dear friends Andrew and Ashley Burrow following the passing of their beautiful daughter on April 3rd. Angelina Rossi Burrow spent her final days battling the mitochondrial disease she was diagnosed with last year. Although her time with us was short, she was an inspiration to all. Due to Angie’s sudden passing, I humbly request your support in easing the financial burden her parents face with their daughter’s medical bills and funeral expenses as soon as possible. A memorial service will take place on Friday, April 12th, at 10:00am, with the burial to follow.

Angelina was diagnosed with Leigh Syndrome when she was just seven months old.  From the moment Andrew and Ashley received the diagnosis, they became committed to helping Angie beat the disease. This led to multiple appointments each week to visit physical therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, pediatric specialists, gastroenterologists, and other experts. It also required a significant financial commitment for medical equipment and fees. There were ups and downs throughout the process, but they never backed down from making sure Angie was comfortable and had a fighting chance.

In addition to the time, energy, and money the Burrow Family committed to their daughter’s well-being, they also helped ensure Angelina became a visible fighter and advocate for mitochondrial disease research. The three of them raised over $13,500 for the University of California San Diego 7th Annual Mito 5k in the name of Angie’s Angels. Angelina became a symbol for positivity over adversity and the Burrow Family dedicated their cause to fight for those who could not.

Angelina was admitted to Rady Children’s Hospital on March 17th as a result of breathing difficulties. Her condition deteriorated rapidly, but she and her family fought for the next 18 days. In spite of her spirit, Angie succumbed to her disease and passed peacefully in her sleep while her parents held her.

While Ashley and Andrew face the most challenging time of their lives, I am asking you to please consider donating to this GoFundMe campaign to support this most amazing family. I am also asking for anybody reading this to share this campaign, as well as the memory of Angelina Rossi Burrow. The Burrow Family will receive and control all funds donated to support the funeral and medical costs associated with Angie’s passing. Any funds not used for Angie will be donated in her name for research done to help cure mitochondrial diseases, and potentially save other children like Angie.

Thank you very much for your support.

Sincerely,
Katie
