Angie Stephen's Fight

Donation protected
For those of you who know Angie, you know she's a fighter.  This has been true for as long as I have known her, and I'm sure it's been that way for her entire life.

Angie married my best friend Shaun.  She has two handsome boys who are the apple of her eye, and our families have become close over the years.  As is typical for this time in all our lives, we are all busy.  We chase our kids around from event to event, put in full days of work, and try to stay connected as best we can.  Luckily, about three years ago Angie, my wife and Angie's sister in law made the decision to complete the "Push ups to Pin Ups" program through Aspire Fitness!  The ladies worked hard, laughed, and got into great shape!  However, as Angie neared the end of the program, she noticed a lump in her breast.

And this is where this fight began.  Angie had been diagnosed with breast cancer, and it was aggressive.  Her doctors were confident that she could beat this, and after a long road, she felt she had turned the corner.  Life started to return back to normal, or as normal as life can be after this type of life changing event.  Angie's zest for life came out, and she and Shaun managed to travel, and enjoyed their time as a family.

As the summer of 2017 waned, Angie kept telling Shaun that she just didn't feel right.  She had headaches, and her vision was blurry.  Perhaps this was just a side effect, or perhaps she had just pushed things too hard.  After returning from a trip to Phoenix in October, Angie was in a lot of pain.  Shaun took her to Victoria Hospital, and after some tests, it was found that the cancer was back, this time in her brain.  Angie was fast tracked to remove the tumour, and she underwent a craniotomy and a gamma knife procedure!  She then again began the process of working towards her recovery.  And that was going well, until May this year.  After going for a routine scan, she found that the tumours were back in her brain.

This will not stop Angie however!  She has been fighting this cancer for three years, and she is still kicking it's ass.

Angie has just finished her first course of whole head radiation and is doing everything she can to continue the fight.  As part of this fight, Angie has been in contact with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  Mayo has reached out to Angie and after reviewing her case they are interested in meeting with her!  This initial trip will take place July 9 -13, 2018.

This process all comes with a cost - the initial deposit is $7000 USD, and any subsequent treatment will be priced out from there.  We are asking you to help support Angie and her family as she travels to Mayo Clinic and fights to extend her time on Earth, so that she can make more memories with family and friends.
