Angie Needs a New Heat Pump - AC Unit
If you have followed recent events in NHCS, you are likely familiar with Angie Kahney. Angie is a fierce advocate for our students and families, devoting so much of her free time serving them and seeking justice. Now, Angie needs our help. Recently, her 16+ year old heat pump/AC stopped working and we are asking the community to give back.
Angie is a single mom to her son Benji and supports her family on a social worker's salary. Angie also battles a chronic disease requiring chemo treatments every few weeks. The cost for a new heat pump will be approximately $7000 and we know this would be a very difficult expense for her. Because of her chemo treatments and chronic disease, a properly working heat pump is vital. Not to mention, the summer heat in Wilmington is unbearable.
Angie did not ask for help, but we recognize how difficult this is for her and we hope our community will help us. Please consider giving even just $10. Everyone who knows Angie knows that she gives everything to the community she serves. I hope we can quickly make this happen for her!
Her next chemo treatment is next week and it would be amazing if our community could pull together and fund this before then!
