Angi's Fight Against Breast Cancer
Donation protected
UPDATE: Angi recently returned home to Muncie after receiving what we hope to be life saving Gamma Knife radiation therapy at MD Anderson. Her bravery is second to none. We all know this is a long road to travel but not one that cannot be conquered with grace, prayer, and determination. Her treatments will continue here at home with chemo therapy in addition to a trial drug. This combination is sure to pack the punch she needs to knock this cancer out! She and Ryan will travel back to Houston in late November for another MRI in hopes that it will reveal that the Gamma Knife therapy was indeed a success! There are likely to be more travel expenses that will be covered thanks to your generosity! It has been overwhelming! Angi, Ryan, and the entire family feel very thankful and loved
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! If you’ve shared a prayer, Thank you! If you’ve sent a kind word. Thank you! If you’ve brought over food, Thank you! If you’ve donated to this fundraiser...Thank you!
As Angi posted on FB most recently, “We extend our most heartfelt thanks to all of those who have supported us as we continue this fight as a family. We love you all and are thankful for your support.”
Nearly three years ago Angi was diagnosed with and fought the hard fight associated with HER2NU Breast cancer. It was a long road of detection, surgeries, treatments, and finally, healing both physically and mentally. With the help of her family, daughter Maci, son Matthew, and husband Ryan and also caring friends who have stayed by her side, she thought her fight had been conquered. She and Ryan traveled, they watched Matthew graduate from high school and Maci graduate from college. Their lives were getting back on track and for that they were all so thankful. In early September she finally got to have the reconstruction surgery she waited so long for. Her body felt healthy. She was happy. Her mind was clear from worry.
Unfortunately, that is not where her story of breast cancer was to end. Recently Angi began having symptoms that alerted her to contact her doctors for their opinions. The news was not easy to take. The cancer is back. It has spread to other parts of her body BUT THERE WILL BE A PLAN! A plan that gives HOPE. A plan that provides HEALING. A plan that provides PEACE.
Angi and Ryan have decided to travel to Houston, TX to consult with a team of cancer specialists at MD Anderson hospital. The hospital and its nurses and doctors are well know around the world for their knowledge of treatment possibilities for all kinds of cancers. At MD Anderson, she will receive amazing top quality care with one goal in mind...TO GET RID OF THIS TERRIBLE DISEASE! The time to make this happen is NOW! Angi and Ryan are both hard workers and love their work families. Angi is a Special Education teacher at Southside Middle School and Ryan is a Quality Engineering Coordinator form Keihin.
Here is where YOU can help! While receiving top quality care, both Angi and Ryan will have to take time away from their jobs to travel. While on the road and in Houston they will have several expenses and money is the last thing any of us want them to worry about. If you feel like you can share a kind word, a prayer, or a monetary donation, the family will be thankful. They all thank you in advance!
