Animal Lovers of Richmond, VA supports transportation for dogs and cats in a high kill shelters located in Wise County, Virginia. A very special woman Barbara, travels to the shelter, pets the dogs and cats, feeds them, spends time with them and most importantly-- she works with animal rescues and foster home providers across the state.
She begins her transportation days at 3am, traveling in a large, insulated van that protects the animals from the weather. She meets with multiple transports and rescues. The animals are then taken on their next travel leg to safe rescues and prepared for adoption.
Amazing to think that Barbara makes this trek two to three times per week with between 12 and 20 dogs. In a year and a half she has rescued almost 2,000 animals!
Where we need your help! Barbara's large, safe van is broken down. The mission is completely stalled until she is able to purchase a new van. This life saving transportation needs your help so that Barbara, her transports, her foster home contacts and rescues that are working so hard to save these precious animals can continue!
