Angel’s journey to recovery
Donation protected
Hi my name is Samantha Martinez, and I am raising money to help my sister Angel and her boys during her road to recovery.
On the evening of September 10, 2023 she and her boyfriend were struck by a drunk driver. She was transported to Holy Cross Hospital with a severe compound fracture to her elbow. From there she was flown to the University of New Mexico hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she has undergone three surgeries to reconstruct her right elbow. The surgeon told us that this was the worst injury of this type she has ever seen, and that she will have a long road to recovery. She indicated that Angel will require additional surgeries in the near future. The surgeon emphasized that it is by some sort of divine miracle that her nerves and arteries were not severed causing her to completely loose her arm.
Angel is a single mother to two boys Joaquin and Jason. This accident that was caused by a careless drunk driver, will require her to be out of work for an extensive period of time. She has already missed a week of work, and is almost out of leave. When her leave is exhausted she will be required to pay her portion of insurance to her employer, which she cannot afford to do. Angel and her boys need medical coverage, especially to assist with any upcoming appointments and surgeries. They also will not have any income during the time that she will not able to work.
I understand that times are hard for everyone, but if you are able to assist Angel in anyway we would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you all in advance, and may God bless you.
