Angels Helping the Ashlocks
Donazione protetta
Dear Friends and Family,
Todd and Amanda could use some angels helping them out right now. It has been a very long year and a half for them, and the financial burden of it all is finally taking its toll.
It all started last spring when Amanda was diagnosed with MALT lymphoma, a cancer in the stomach lining, and she has gone through and continues to go through chemotherapy and immunotherapy. This sweetie also has rheumatoid arthritis, previously had breast cancer, and, just this June, had back surgery and now has a rod, 2 plates and 3 screws in her back. Her back isn't getting better, and they are concerned other things are going on. On top of all that, she also has lymphedema which requires constant therapy and she has been sick almost constantly because of her suppressed immune system.
Sweet Amanda tried going back to work and was successful for awhile. However, the back surgery has had her down for months now, and she eventually had to quit her job. They moved into a small apartment, and just recently had to get rid of Amanda's car because they couldn't keep up with the payments. Because she quit her job, she had to change health insurance and it hasn't been an easy transition.
Amanda is the sweetest person you will ever meet. She would never complain, is always so grateful, never gives up and is always positive despite feeling terrible. Her new saying is "God only gives us what we can handle. Apparently God thinks I am a badass!"
Amanda and Todd's life has been turned upside down by these illnesses, and having to fight to make ends meet has just added to the struggles. They have never complained or asked for help. But now it is time for us to step in and help ease the struggle a little.
Your support in any amount would help with the continuous medical bills, rent, food, etc. Amanda can't cook or clean or drive, and Todd is working full time to try make ends meet.
Another way you could help is by providing gift cards to restaurants and fast food places near Sherman, Texas. If you can't support financially, prayers are always appreciated.
The picture is of me and Amanda at one of her chemo treatments when we were both hairless from chemo but grateful to be alive and to have each other.
Thank you in advance for any support you can provide. Amanda and Todd are truly blessed to have you support!
