Our love for kids is what inspired us to start GEA in Seoul back in 2013. It means so much to us, being such a big part of our students' lives and helping to shape their minds and their hearts. But our school is not a charity, and our students are so fortunate to come from families who can afford to send them to learn English with us.
We are also passionate about helping those who aren't so fortunate.
Susanne Fuglsang (Jenny's Mom) was born in Korea and lived in an orphanage until she was adopted by a Swedish family when she was 4 years old. When Jenny moved to Korea in 2009, she and Susanne tried (unsuccessfully) to find information about that orphanage or her birth parents. Since we aren't sure which one Susanne grew up in, they are all special to us.
Angels Haven for Children (AHFC) is a wonderful home for children in Seoul who have lost their parents. They provide great love and care. But they are always in need of clothing, toys, supplies, furniture, general upkeep, special trips and events. We hold regular toy and clothing drives at GEA and then personally deliver the items to AHFC, where we get to spend time with the children and see their appreciation. It is such a humbling and rewarding experience.
We would like to give more this time, and we hope our wedding can give you a reason to donate to this very worthy cause.
With love from Seoul,
Jenny and Andy
