Fans of the Fabulous Suzi "Mrs. Birdsey" Rubin

Suzi has been an extraordinary, positive, loving presence to so many kids through the years in her role as teacher and friend. Her unyielding devotion to her students makes her a hero in itself, but she is also a fierce, inspiring force that is so needed in this world in a million ways. Sadly, she's struggled with a series of challenging illnesses, and funds for her treatment at the physical rehabilitation facility where she is currently receiving care are strained. For those who know and love her or have been lucky enough to have a little "Mrs. Birdsey" in their lives as students, please consider donating so she can continue the healing and come home.

She was a teacher to so many as she did more than instruct. Her recovery is a slow process, so I know she would love to hear from us. Thank you in advance for whatever you decide to do."

Suzi Update [as of April 21, 2021]: "...She remains in the rehabilitation facility, but unfortunately is very close to exhausting the days of covered physical therapy. (For reference: The private pay rate for therapy at her facility is $100/15 minutes.)
"We had her care plan (kind of like an IEP) meeting this week, and while she has made progress, she still requires a level of care and assistance to complete the activities of daily living that are beyond what any one person can provide, which means that she most likely will not be able to return to a home environment for the foreseeable future.
"Her vision is limited, so if you wish to send a card or note, write big. Little things she always needs: Chapstick, hand lotion, little packs of tissues, sugar-free treats.
