i want to introduce you to my Grandson, Axel Hunter Romero Axel just turned 3 and what he has overcome in his 3 short years is not only more than HE deserved, its more than ANY 3-year-old deserves. Let me explain. Axel is a pediatric stroke survivor. Specifically, he suffered two strokes, perinatal left MCA stroke and thrombotic stroke involving the right cerebellar artery and is classified as having cerebral palsy and is right side impaired. Those are some scary sounding words for sure and is, at times a very scary reality for his parents John and Bre. Insurance and other help is exactly that, help. Not NEAR enough to meet Axels needs and way beyond even this 2-income couple. Axel is fortunate to be in speech and occupational therapy weekly, some physical therapy and wears an afo (leg brace) What Axel is in most need of right now is a very expensive device. It is called an AAC device (Augmentative and Alternative Communication Device) This device is critical for Axel to develop proper speech and communicative skills, which is CRITICAL for him to succeed and thrive in life. These devices require hardware and software totalling approx. $10,000.00. Insurance will cover approx. $2,000.00, leaving an expense to the family of approx. $8,000.00 It wasn't too long ago when Axel's dad was badly injured on his job and missing a LOT of work during that recovery set the family WAY back. Then, even more recently Axel and his mom were involved in a weather related car accident, totalling the car. just another set back for the family so NOW is the time to help. Axel is a bright, smart, energetic little boy with an amazing future ahead of him. For him to be ALL he can be, HE NEEDS this device. WE, TOGETHER can change Axel's life, WE can be the difference for him between living and thriving. Please consider giving, ANY amount is a HUGE amount. Thank you in advance for helping.
