Angels for Audrey
11 year old Audrey was admitted to pediatric intensive care on 1/2/20 with severe pneumonia. Her condition deteriorated rapidly, and she was placed on a ventilator. After several hours on a ventilator, with her body not responding to treatment, she was quickly transitioned to ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, or life support).
She has been diagnosed with influenza B and pneumonia that is associated with a staphylococcal infection. Doctors are aggressively treating her severely damaged lungs, and she has a team of designated nurses at her bedside 24/7, monitoring the ECMO to maintain her stability.
Once the infection is cleared, it will be an intense process to wean her from ECMO and the ventilator, to where she can breathe on her own.
Doctors have informed us that this will be a long road, with the potential to be on the life support several weeks, and in the hospital even longer.
We are raising funds for any and all medical expenses beyond what insurance would cover. PICU and ECMO expenses are astronomical. When she is finally discharge from the hospital, there will be ongoing therapy that incurs additional expense. We want Audrey’s family to focus on being there for her, and not distracted by the financial implications of all of this.
If you know Audrey, you know she loves to sing, and has a mighty voice for God. She has a fighters spirit, and knows a God who performs miracles. The Lord breathed His life into her at conception and He can breathe a new song into her lungs now. In Jesus’ name!
All funds received to this account will go toward shared medical expenses for her current hospitalization and resulting therapy as she recovers.
We thank you in advance for your generosity and support. We have been completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers and love for Audrey and her family.
