My name is Jessica - I’m a United States Marine, a teacher, mother, and a participant on the Global Sumud Flotilla. I sailed for many reasons, but the most important reason was for Asmaa.

She is my best friend and a beloved sister, our families love and support each other, our children are friends, and we are ingrained in one another forever. For over two years I have watched the world ignore her & her family while she is forced to endure conditions beyond comprehension. I felt the call of God when the opportunity came to take action and sail to my friend, it was an honor of a lifetime to do so.

Asmaa is a mother to 5 wonderful children and takes care of her many siblings and her elderly parents. While she and I are separated by an ocean, we are one under the greatest Creator. I cannot sit idly by while Asmaa starves and freezes. As one person, I can't move mountains, but WE can if we lean into community and support her together, so I'm asking for your help.

This is the moral litmus test of our time and you, YES YOU, have the divine power to alleviate the suffering of others.

Your direct action can feed her children, nieces & nephews, and keep them warm in spite of these unholy atrocities. Most of all, you can give them faith, hope and Love. Remember, the greatest among these is Love.

My name is Asmaa Nabil resident of Palestine, specifically from Gaza. Today, I come to you with a story that resonates with resilience, survival, and the indomitable human spirit amidst adversity.

My family of 7 and I found ourselves engulfed in the chaos of the war that erupted on October 7th. The scenes of bombing, destruction, and forced displacement became our harsh reality, compelling us to make the agonizing decision of leaving our home in search of safety.

Gaza, once a place we called home, turned into an inhospitable environment, stripped of life's basic necessities. The fundamental elements of life—shelter, food, and security—were cruelly snatched away from us. In the aftermath of this turmoil, I witnessed the loss of nearly everything that defined our existence. Gaza no longer feels safe, leaving me with a profound determination to carve out a new life for my family, far away from the constant specter of war.

Today, I reach out to you not merely as a survivor but as someone steadfastly committed to forging a path towards a brighter future. My aspiration is to relocate my family and myself to a place where we can rebuild, liberated from the shadows of conflict that haunt our beloved Gaza. To embark on this journey, I seek your support through a fundraising campaign
