Angels for Alexandra Matte

Of all the many situations we encounter every day, there is a word that is one of the scariest we will ever hear in our life; especially when spoken directly from a doctor. After the mind scrambles to decipher the echo of that shocking word, a person knows at that very moment, that life altering events are imminent.

Alexandra Futch Matte was raised in a large family with strong Christian principles and values. She became educated, pursued her career goals, fell in love, and married her best friend. At thirty years of age, Alexandra and Curt Matte have been blessed with their four beautiful children; sons Holden (13), Heath (11), Cohen (6), and daughter Caroline (1). The epitome of faith, love, health, and happiness; the young, hardworking Matte family, residing in Branch, Louisiana have been living a dream life. But, that all dreadfully changed on April 19, 2017.

Defined in any language, the word "CANCER" is devastating; it is evil, destructive, and deadly. CANCER automatically derails you from the path of your personal choice. And although fighting CANCER can prove that we are strong enough to beat all things inside and outside our bodies, CANCER of any type, especially Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, is a war of many battles.  There are mental, physical, and financial burdens from medical treatment that most of us could never imagine enduring.

The oldest of six children born to Wayne and Denise Thibodeaux Futch of Plant City, Florida, Alex has a zest for life. A beautiful, easy smiling young woman with a loquacious personality and competitive spirit, Alex has a heart of gold. She wouldn't ask for help from anyone, because that's not her nature. Alex is the giver. She always thinks that so many other people are less fortunate and have far more problems than her own medical condition. But, we all need help sometimes.

The eldest of 31 grandchildren to Mr. And Mrs. Bob Thibodeaux from Churchpoint, Louisiana, her grandparents always considered Alex to be an “Acorn of Hope.” Because, Hope is believing. Hope is having rock solid faith. Hope is facing each day with a purpose. Hope is a strong desire to make something great happen. Hope is giving back and helping others. Hope is knowing that people truly care. Hope makes the world a better place for everyone.

It is heartbreaking for Alex’s entire family and her community of friends, because we all know that fighting CANCER takes unwavering Faith, Courage, and Hope. But it also takes a lot of Help and Support from many others. As a friend of Alexandra Matte’s family, and writing this on their behalf, I decided to ask a question: If you were diagnosed with Cancer yesterday, would you live your life in a different manner tomorrow. If so, why not start living that way today?

Please join us with Prayers for Alexandra Matte. Please let us each do a small part and contribute from the heart to help give Alex some financial peace of mind needed for her family; each of her children’s futures, so that she can focus on the fight ahead to become the Mighty Oak in the forest of humanity that she is destined to be.

From Alex's family to yours, we sincerely thank each of you for your time, your prayers, and your thoughtfulness.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
