Angel's Dog Sam Needs Urgent Medical Care

Hi, my name is Angel. I’m asking for help because my dog Sam — my best friend, my comfort, my lifeline — was hit by a bike. He’s only 1 year and 2 months old.

I didn’t see it happen, but I found him lying on the ground, barely moving. When I touched his back, he cried out in pain. I rushed him to the emergency vet and was told he has a sacrococcygeal luxation — a serious injury where the base of his spine near his tail is dislocated. He has swelling, nerve damage, and possibly can’t control his bladder anymore. He’s in pain and confused. It’s hard for him to walk. He doesn’t understand why his body isn’t working.

The emergency vet visit alone cost $1,600, which I had to put on a credit card. That was everything I had. I haven’t been able to take him back for any follow-up care or medication. I’m completely out of money. And every day, I watch him suffer a little more — and it breaks me.

I need help. Not just for Sam, but for myself too.

Sam isn’t just a pet. He’s been there for me in a way that no human ever has. When I’ve felt depressed, broken, or alone, he’s been the only one who stayed beside me. Always wagging his tail. Always licking my face like he knew I needed it. He made me feel seen — like I mattered.

Now he just lays there, struggling. And I carry him, and he just looks up at me with those big eyes… like he’s asking me to fix it. And I can’t. I feel like I failed him.

But I don’t want to give up. I can’t give up on him. He saved me, and now it’s my turn to try and save him.

I’m trying to raise $3,000 to cover the emergency bill, follow-up care, medication, and whatever treatment he might need to live a pain-free life again. I just want him to have a chance to heal — to run, play, wag his tail, and just be Sam again.
