Hi, my name is angel online. I’m a vtuber streaming on twitch and youtube, a singer, and voice actor.

Health History
My health issues are not new. I have been using a cane since I was 16, and started using a wheelchair part time at around 18. I am 24 years old. I have been vtubing for 4 years. Despite the challenges with my health, and honestly because of the challenges with my health, I became a vtuber to connect with people and to comfortably be able to interact with others.

What Is Tethered Cord Syndrome
I have to get neuro surgery for my spinal cord. I was diagnosed with Tethered Cord Syndrome about a month ago. Tethered Cord Syndrome means that instead of being loose and free flowing like a spinal cord should be, my spinal cord is attached, aka tethered to a piece of fatty tissue.

I have to get surgery to cut this piece of fatty tissue and untether my spinal cord so it is able to move properly.

Tethered Cord Syndrome is incredibly rare, 0.25 out of 1,000 people have it. Some people develop tethered cord via an injury, but I have had tethered cord syndrome since I was an embryo, and I didn't find out until 24 years later.

How Tethered Cord Syndrome Affects Me
Because I have so many other physical disabilities- Temporal Lobe Epilepsy, Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, low muscle tone, arthritis, and scoliosis… (and a laundry list of others)- my pain and difficulty functioning was thought to be a combination of those. And, while those conditions still affect me, their severity is being greatly exacerbated by my Tethered Cord Syndrome.

I can't bend over or raise my arms and need help doing the smallest things. My cognitive function has been declining because my spinal cord cannot send proper signals to my brain. I've been on a downhill spiral for the past year, with the symptoms increasing at a rapid rate. I've been bedridden since about January 2026 other than going to doctor's visits. I have become a full time wheelchair user.

Surgery Details
The good news is the surgery is very safe. and there's a chance it'll greatly improve my quality of life. There's a chance I might walk again- at least in some assisted capacity. But until the surgery happens, my Tethered Cord Syndrome is progressing rapidly and I'm in non terminal cancer levels of pain. We don’t know how much the surgery will help until it happens.

While the surgery itself is very safe, the recovery process post-surgery is going to be brutal. I'll be unable to move and hospitalized for close to 10 days, then likely sent to rehab for an unknown period of time, followed by a year of physical therapy to retrain my nerves to function properly.

I have a spinal surgery consultation on May 14 and I will update this with more details of when the surgery will be when I have them. I want to fundraise before the surgery because I will be unable to move or function for an unknown period of time after the surgery.

This is where I am going to do something I've never really done before. Ask for your help.

What My Insurance Covers + Transparency
I already cannot work due to my disability insurance. My mom is my caretaker who has to pay for all of this, so I am trying to help take the burden off of my mom with a fundraising effort throughout all of April and May. My mom will receive the funds on my behalf, since she is funding disability accommodations to our house and my physical well being.

My insurance will pay for the surgery itself and probably some of the physical therapy, but not the new wheelchair I had to purchase (since I can no longer safely push myself in my manual), the stairlift I desperately need, the increased home health aids i will need to hire, or hotel and transportation costs for the hospital and rehab.

How The Money Will Be Used
I am asking for $5,000 to pay for spinal surgery related costs.

The two main uses of the money will be for the stairlift I need and for the motorized wheelchair I purchased.

I have evidence of the costs of these.

The wheelchair was $862.99 which I have a reciept for in updates.

I was quoted by Acorn Stairlift for $5,444.25 USD total (including installation, with an order deposit of $300 USD and a balance on install of $5,144.25 USD). I am going to shop around and try to find a better deal but this is the estimated cost. You can find evidence of the quote in updates.

Any extra funds raised will go towards the stairlift, home health aids, hotel and transportation costs, and any other surprise fees my insurance does not cover in relation to my spinal surgery. All of the money from the go-fund-me will be used responsibly to help me recover.

FUNdraising Events !! :)
The fundraising effort will culminate with a 4 day event, which i am calling the Spine-O-Thon.

The Spine-O-Thon will be a non-stop stream of my best vods, as well as fun events, karaoke, tournaments, prizes and rewards. Go-Fund-Me donations will count towards the rewards for the Spine-O-Thon. All donations to the Go-Fund-Me will appear on screen during the event. Here are a few of the rewards I have in mind.

if youd like to help theres a lot of things you can do:
-support my social media
-compete in the tournaments
-stream my music + videos !
-donate
-get involved and offer to help !

Thank You
I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart for listening to what i have to say. Thank you for taking time out of your day to learn about me and whats going on in my life. I’ve honestly been very emotionally volatile, depressed, and scared.

I have a lovely support system including my mom, my fiancé- ryan aka frost_bytten, my best friend- sir kapa, my grandparents, and my other friends. Without their support I wouldn't be here today and I'm grateful for them for sticking by me through this difficult time.

I appreciate your support more than you know. I hope you have a good day, I hope you have a good night, I hope you have a good year, I hope you have a good life, and I'll see you hopefully at the Spine-O-Thon!
