En las palabras de esta plataforma, ”Ayudarnos unos a los otros es la naturaleza humana.”

 

Nuestro padre, abuelo, hermano, tío, primo y amigo, Angel Sandoval Escoto es un hombre de familia, alegre y bromista, con un corazón noble, siempre pendiente de los demás y que se da a querer con su don de gentes, haciendo amigos donde quiera que vaya. Quien lo conoce, lo quiere mucho y hasta le dice "Angelito" porque ese es Papi; se da a querer y quiere de regreso y con todo su corazón.

 

Ingeniero Civil de carrera, ha dedicado toda su vida a servir y ayudar a los que necesitan, haciendo lo que le gusta hacer; construyendo carreteras, puentes e infraestructuras que han modernizado y servido al desarrollo de muchas comunidades en Honduras. Aun a sus 80 años, siempre dispuesto a servir a su amado Colegio de Ingenieros Civiles de Honduras y así proyectándose a sus colegas y comunidades.

 

El 8 de Mayo sufrió un colapso que lo llevó al hospital, donde luego de estabilizarlo a través de transfusiones de sangre y otros medios especializados, permanece en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos esperando se le practique un reemplazo de la Válvula Aórtica para su corazón. Dicha válvula tiene un costo MUY elevado, ya que no se encuentra en el país (Honduras) y se elabora a la medida del paciente. .

 

Necesitamos cubrir los costos de la válvula y el procedimiento para instalársela, así como gastos hospitalarios y honorarios médicos. Desafortunadamente, los seguros en Honduras hacen discrimación de edad y bajan la cobertura el 50% a partir de cierta edad y aparte de tener un máximo de cobertura total, lo cual, debido al cuidado en UCI, ya tocamos techo en los primeros días de su hospitalización. Sus hijos y demás familiares estamos colaborando  con todo lo que está a nuestro alcance pero no podemos solos.

 

Es por eso que apelamos a la buena voluntad de cada uno que reciba esto y tenga bien ayudarlo. Para aportar, que sea lo que salga del corazón; cada dólar cuenta y su granito de arena suma.

 

Una vez realicemos el pago directo al Hospital, estaremos informándoles con recibo.

Our father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Angel Sandoval Escoto is a family man, a happy and cheerful man. A jokester, a person with a noble heart, always aware of others in need and who makes friends wherever he goes. To know him is to love him. That’s our dad; Angelito. He loves with all his heart.

 

A Civil Engineer by career, he has dedicated his entire life to serve and help those in need, doing what he loves to do: building roads, bridges and all kind of infrastructures that have modernized and served the development of many communities in Honduras. Even at 80 years old, always willing to serve his beloved Board of Civil Engineers of Honduras and thus giving back to his colleagues and their communities.

 

On May 8th, he suffered a collapse that took him to the hospital, where, after stabilizing him through blood transfusions and other specialty procedures, he remains in the Intensive Care Unit waiting for an Aortic Valve replacement for his heart. This valve has a VERY high cost and has been ordered abroad since they’re not made in Honduras and it has to be custom made for his heart.

 

We need to cover the costs of the valve and the procedure to surgically install it, as well as hospital expenses and medical fees. These are VERY high. Unfortunately, insurance companies in Honduras discriminate against age and lower coverage by 50% after a certain age and also has a maximum of total coverage, which due to the care in the ICU, we already reached a ceiling in just the first days of him being hospitalized. His children and other relatives of his are collaborating as much as we can but we cannot alone.

 

This is why we appeal to the goodwill of each person who receives this, to help him. You can contribute with what your heart feels is right; EVERY dollar counts, EVERY bit adds up. Once we make the direct payment to the Hospital, we will be informing you with a receipt.

Also, PLEASE help us pray for Papi; for a successful operation and a smooth recovery. There is POWER in prayer! We have seen it now more than ever during these past 3 weeks. Papi is a champ and has progressively recovered even when the doctors didn’t think he would.
