On Thursday, March 5, 2020, Lou Levy was taken to the Emergency Room. He had developed pneumonia in BOTH lungs, which sent his body into septic shock, shutting his organs down. He was very close to death when he first arrived at the hospital and was admitted to ICU and put on a ventilator. His prognosis did not look good. He was on a 24-hour watch and many friends and family joined in prayer asking for total healing for Lou.
Over the past week, Lou became responsive, squeezing Angelique's hand in response to questions, showing signs that he is not giving up. Lou is, and always has been, a fighter! While his heart rate has improved his kidneys have also started to function again.
Lou is in the process of being transferred to Ochsner's Main Campus. They need to run some tests on him to determine why his Bilirubin numbers are still high, despite his liver functionality improving. It is quite possible they might consider a liver transplant for his failing liver. Lou is not out of the woods just yet. Please continue to pray.
While prayers have sustained Lou's health, the medical bills are starting to accumulate, many of which will not be covered by insurance and will fall on Angelique & Lou's personal finances.
I prayed about Lou & Angelique's situation, and while I'm in another state and have only been able to offer prayers up to this point, I felt called to reach out and put this GoFundMe page together, with the approval of Angelique. This is a time for all of us to come together and rally around our brother and sister in Christ!! Please contribute what you are able to. 100% of everything collected goes straight to Angelique & Lou. I offer this prayer for you to consider donating to help Angelique & Lou:
Heavenly Father, we know that life is a gift and a total blessing. We thank you for your continuous pursuit of us and for your unconditional love. We thank you for the favor and blessings that you have bestowed upon us and our families. Grant us joyful spirits, thankful for our own health and blessings, and grant us eagerness to engage and love others. Grant us the opportunity to recognize generosity, even in the smallest of gifts. Remind us to reflect on what we do for the least of our brothers and sisters, that we do for You! Lord, help us all financially contribute what you call us to give in order to help Angelique & Lou. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
