Angeles Relief

Angeles Relief Inc is an Australian not-for-profit organisation that helps the abandoned children of sex tourists in the Philippines.

We seek to give children trapped in poverty a way towards a better life, through funding health, education and decent living conditions. Without this, many kids would end up forced to become sex workers, like their parents before them.

In the last two years we have been doing groundbreaking work using DNA testing and genealogy research to trace the fathers of these children. This has been done in partnership with the international charity, Hear Their Cries.

Our work will be featured on the ABC Four Corners program on 8 July, and later in the year on Channel Four in the United Kingdom.

As a result of the DNA testing work, Angeles Relief Inc now has legal action in Australia, the USA and Canada seeking child support payments from the children's fathers and citizenship for the children.

Happily, in some cases fathers are supporting their children without the need for legal action.

We now seek funding to expand and consolidate our work, supporting more families and tracing more fathers.

Angeles Relief Inc was founded by Australian journalists Margaret Simons and Dave Tacon in 2015, after they travelled to Angeles City to report on the children of Australian sex tourists.
