Never in the 18 years that Angèle has been open have we ever experienced anything like this - our new normal. Together as a family and a community we have been through fires, floods and earthquakes and still we were not prepared for what is going on today. Having to close our doors and say good by to our staff and Angèle family was perhaps the hardest things we have ever done.
For us what makes Angèle such a special place is not just the food or decor it is experiences that you have had here. The memories and moments we have all shared. What makes Angèle special is our Angèle family. This may mean different things to each one of us. Maybe to someone it is that Mariah always remembers where you like to sit or your black napkin. Maybe it’s that the kitchen knows exactly how you like your burger cooked, or that Anna knows how to choose just the right wine for the meal. Or that today is different for you and maybe today you need a smile to tell you tomorrow is a different day. This family has brought a special something to the table to help create a memories for each of us coming from just around the corner or from around the world.
So now we feel it is time for us to take care of them. Our team or family is made up of some of the hardest working and dedicated people we know. So it is not in any of our natures to look for or ask for handouts. But these are different times. I know that all of you understand this as we have heard from so many of you asking how you can help.
So we have started a go fund me page for the Angèle family. Our family is made up of our entire staff. These are your favorite bartenders and servers, the cooks and dishwashers behind the scenes, the hosts and bussers and the management team. We are hoping to be able to raise enough money to help take care of them all while Angèle is closed. We are hoping to raise $100,000; it seems like an unattainable number but decided to aim high.
We understand this is a lot to ask as we are going through this together as a community and nation. So we are asking to just give what you can. Every $1 helps.
