My name is Angel and honestly I have been against asking for help through these things, and dislike asking for help in general, but now that I find myself in a situation that I cannot help myself in, I am turning to this site to hopefully help me. I am trying to fly from NC to CA this weekend for two weeks and am trying to raise funds for last minute airfare, rental car and spending money should she or I need anything since we are both out of work. Please see below for her story.
Two weeks ago, my mother was suffering from a terrible migraine that would not ease no matter what methods she tried. On the 4th day, she gave in and went to the hospital because the pain was too much to handle. They ran tests and found that she had had a bursted aneurysm.
Because an aneurysm causes blood to spill out into the brain, they can be fatal if not treated so they put her in the ICU for monitoring and more tests. An Angiogram was ran along with multiple MRIs to try and find where the aneurysm occured. At this point they felt she would most likely need a coil placed to fix it. After running the tests, they were unable to find the bursted aneurysm and were not able to determine where the blood was coming from that was now in between her brain and skull.
They have diagnosed her with a rare condition that causes the blood vessels in the brain to spasm and flare up and thus swell and bleed.
She is unable to drive, has extreme sensitivity to light, nausea and has a hard time getting around. Because of this she will need someone to help her at home when they release her and does not have very many options when it comes to help from the outside. They have placed her on disability for now but I am not sure for how long.
My mother, even though we have had a rocky past, means the world to me and has been there for me as we have tried to rebuild our relationship. She dropped everything to fly out and spend two weeks with me when my son was born and helped me as I recovered. She has helped financially when I was in a bind. And now that she is in need of help, I would like to show my gratitude and help her if I can.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your help should you find it in your heart to do so.
