Angela's Ovarian Cancer Journey

My name is Angela and I have spent the last ten years as a nurse taking care of others and now I suppose it's my turn to be taken care of.  Last week a large mass was found on one of my ovaries and lab tests have revealed that it is officially ovarian cancer. I am scheduled to have surgery next week Wednesday in the hopes that I will not need chemo or radiation. I currently work as an LPN in a small hospice house and due to the size of the company do not have FMLA or short-term disability. My plan as of right now is to continue working up until the day of my surgery despite the pain I am having as well as return to work as soon as possible after my surgery as I am single and do not have any other sources of income. I have been encouraged by those who would like to help me to set up this account in the hopes that I may be able to rest properly for the fight ahead of me.
