In December 2021 I was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma (a 4.5cm tumor in my brain). Two weeks later I went in for a 15 hour brain surgery to have it removed, however the tumor was in close contact to my brain stem and they were unable to remove it all. I have gone back every 6 months since the surgery to have MRIs done to monitor any changes. In November of 2023 my neurologist noticed a concerning increase in size of the tumor and referred me for radiation therapy. I will be doing 28 radiation treatments in Cincinnati, which is 2 hours from my home. I want to keep things as normal as possible and plan to continue teaching a half day before each treatment. I am still recovering from my med bills from my surgery in 2021 and I am reluctantly willing to ask for help with my treatment costs. The goal on here is for both my medical bills and the cost of the driving 4 hours daily for treatment. If you’re unable to donate I would appreciate if you could share my page to help me out.
