My mom has always been the person to take care of everyone and now it’s our turn to take care of her and financial support would allow her to focus on her treatment plan through her battle with cancer without the added stress of lost income. My stepdad got very sick at the end of 2019 and ended up getting diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in the summer of 2020 and passed away 6 short weeks later and my mom took care of him the entire time making sure she was doing everything possible to support him. Not only was she grieving her life partner after he passed but she also carried the financial burden that comes with going from a double to single income household. Then earlier this year her brother who lives with her was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer and she immediately assumed the role of primary care taker for him scheduling and bringing him to every appointment and being an advocate to get him the best possible care while working full time. And still now continues to support him through his battle with cancer with the help of her sisters. In October she went to the doctor because she was having pain in her tailbone that she assumed was from sitting all day at work. They ran tests and after her colonoscopy on November 19th she ended up being diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. This has caused severe unmanaged pain for her and sitting at work all day has only been making the pain worse. On January 22nd she will begin her chemo and radiation which means she will no longer be able to work. Please consider donating to ease the financial stress she will inevitably feel during this time.
