FAST FORWARD.....
On a sunny and beautiful summer day June 7th 2020, Angela was doing some yard work and enjoying the sunshine!! Logan, Angela’s parents along with Angela and Logan’s two little precious children Lincoln and Lauren were all present and enjoying the day together doing what they loved to do. Angela went inside for a glass of fresh cold water (at this point Angela doesn’t remember what happened next). Angela made her way to her lawn chair, sat down and continued to talk with her mother for a few more seconds. Tipping over in her lawn chair was the warning sign to the others that Angela was in distress and having a Seizure. The ambulance was called, Angela was taken to the ER, more CT scans preformed and that is where she was informed that she had not one but two brain tumors. With any diagnoses like this comes multiple appointments at Mayo Clinic to get the best treatment plan. Angela’s neurology team felt surgery was the best option to see what they would be up against. On July 7th Angela was taken into the operating room. The surgeons were able to remove majority of the large tumor measuring 2” by 3”. The smaller tumor was not capable of being removed based on its location within the brain. Based on the scientific evidence within the tumor they have diagnosed Angela with a stage 3 Glioma, with the DNA still pending for the smaller tumor. Angela will tackling this Brain Cancer diagnosis with treatment consisting of Chemo along with 30 rounds of Radiation. Radiation will be 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Both Chemo and Radiation will begin around August 17th.
Angela is young and in great physical shape. Her doctors have shared with her that these two things are all in her favor for a wonderful and healthy future!!
Angela has been without work for the past 6 weeks while attending many appointments at Mayo Clinic and healing from her surgery. Logan, who owns and operates his own business has taken time away from work to be by her side and will continue to be needed right next to her to hold her hand as she takes this next step in beating the cancer beast!!
Together we can help this amazing family out during this difficult time in their life!
