This is Angela Plath, my good friend and coworker at Lumiere Detox Center, Jupiter, FL. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and requires a double masectomy at age 44. We are raising money to help her with her out of pocket medical expenses and living expenses. Angela will be out of work for 2 months or more. Angela is a single mom to her 13 yr old daughter and also takes care of her Mom.  Please read her story and give generously as this is our sister and we love her very much!

In November 2015 is when everything started, Angi received the prognosis of breast cancer.  Since her diagnosis, her team of Doctors said that she would only have to have partial removals and possibly no chemotherapy or radiation.  Angi thought “I’m one of the lucky ones, I do not have such a terminal diagnosis and everything will be over soon.” Angi has been going back and forth to her breast cancer specialist for almost a year now. She has had several biopsies, partial mastectomies and now is required to have a double mastectomy. After her partial mastectomy surgeries in late April 2016, which unfortunately put Angi out of work for 3 weeks. This was a struggle since she is a single mother but again Angi thought “I’m a lucky one and this will be done soon.”  However, in early September 2016,  Angi began to notice that she was not healing properly and went back to her doctors.  They found several more areas to address and decided that it would be best for her to have a double mastectomy on Nov 4th, 2016. This left her very little time to prepare her family for her quickly changing health but also the changing financial difficulties and urgency to save money. She will be required to stay home for 4-8 weeks. With her missing work, having to paying large amount of medical expenses, and dealing with the emotional part of cancer is a lot for one person to handle. This is why we would like to step up and help our friend who has loved us all like family.

On November 4th, 2016, her surgery will take place. With that there will be multiple appointments with a physical therapist, an oncologist, and a plastic surgeon. Then there will be another surgery following in 3-6 months.

This will be a very hard procedure for her to recover from. If you cannot donate financially, we will always welcome prayers for her and sending her good wishes. Please help us take care of our loved friend who is more like a sister, as we know she would do the same for any of us in our time of need.
