Hi my name is Angela. Some of you may know me, or my son Curtis. My son is presently living in Naniamo, B.C. and has been recently diagnosed with lung Cancer and Liver Cancer. He has just started his chemotherapy and already of course feeling the side effects some of you may know what that entails. He has other health concerns that may make his hopeful recovery even harder. Why am I starting this go fund me you might ask? I am already on limited income due to my own recent cancer and well finances are hard for everyone these days. This of course was unexpected that at 32 years old my son would be facing this battle. Not something I'd be saving up or planning for. As his mom i need to go be supportive and maybe if it's in the cards be able to bring him closer so as a family we can be here for him. He has 5 siblings all living in Alberta as well. So my hope is to be able to go from Alberta to bc to organize when and how or his treatment can be transferred to Alberta and bring him home. Or be able to afford the travel to go see him and possibly stay to help him mentally through this rough road if nothing else. Take his siblings that can take the time off work and or school to go see their brother. The road for Curtis will be a rough one and we are praying he can make it through . Any funds raised will go to travel and if we budget it specifically we can use any extra funds towards his recovery and other things he will need wether it be setting him up here in alberta. Healthcare related items. Fees or expenses we have no idea could arise. My personal experience with Cancer is already so obviously different than my sons. He is in for the battle of a lifetime. As his family we just want to be there for him as much as we know we can't change or fix it. So far his lungs are being drained of fluids daily and he is in pain every day can't sleep and by the sounds of things not able to keep alot of food down. This is maybe 3 weeks into finding out . There's so much I'd like to say but of course staying positive but realistic at the same time is very difficult when I am here and he is there. There are probably many of you that have had similar and or same experiences and made it through. I just am hoping I can raise enough to be able to do the things a mom should be doing in this situation. I appreciate all the people who have been there for Curtis (coworkers and friends ) and his sister who dropped everything and figured out a way and flew to be by his side the moment she found out. It takes alot for me to just ask for help but here I am.
