Hello my friends. I recently had surgery to remove cancer. My family and I are in need of some support to help us get through the next few months.
I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer in January. I went to MD Anderson Jacksonville. They performed back surgery to stabilize the T 12 vertebrae until the cancer could be addressed. MD Anderson said they could not help me any further because it is a rare sarcoma cancer (less than 1% of cancers) and referred me to Houston TX for further care. Unable to easily go to TX, I have come to Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa. The financial burden has been just as stressful as the disease. The Dr. removed my entire T 12 vertebrae 5 days ago where I had 8 hours surgery and had to be resuscitated. I am so grateful to be here today. I am unable to walk alone and need constant care, so my husband is unable to work right now and the bills are piling up. Our home is in TN now, but we are unable to get there until I recover. We were so excited and was there for just a few weeks when we were told I had cancer and had to return to FL. We have been staying between our parents during all this and are so thankful for their love & support of course! All of our belongings are still in storage, in St. Augustine, and know that it will be another feat and expense getting that taken care of too. We would be so grateful for any help to get our family through this awful time. I certainly hate to even ask. We thank you for any help and certainly understand if you're unable to as well.
I have noticed that when you donate, GoFundMe automatically takes a tip. You are able to adjust it to zero if you choose to. It's easy to miss but look for it before you donate. Here is the original post. I couldn't figure out how to add to it.
Thank you,
Angela, Shawn & Jr.
