Angela Roberts Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
We're raising money to help Angela fight cancer…again!:(

For those of you who aren’t fortunate enough to know her, Angela Roberts is a counselor at Farnell Middle School in Tampa, Florida.  But not just any counselor.  She is a warm, loving, care-about-every-single-one-of-her-students (AND all their families) superhero kind of counselor that never sleeps. When she’s not at school leaping through all sixth, seventh or eighth grade buildings and all the challenges they present, you can find her tutoring one (or a group) of students, making meals for someone else, coaching the school’s football teams, or helping some other poor soul in need. And, every holiday, she rallies the entire school to provide meals and gifts for Farnell students and families in need. She is perpetually helping others.  Angela is a single mother to Caleb, a sweet, super-smart high schooler in eleventh grade (who takes right after his mama).

This past Christmas Eve, Angela quietly had a PET scan done to find out if her worst fears had become a reality. She’d been experiencing a lot of stomach and back pain, so she went in for an early checkup.  The scans unfortunately revealed that the cancer was back. In 2016 Angela was initially diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and underwent extensive treatment and the cancer had been in remission. Angela’s diagnosis, a reoccurrence of Diffuse Large B Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is aggressive making a swift and equally aggressive treatment plan mandatory. She has already started a very new treatment called Car-T at Moffitt which requires very aggressive chemo treatment and then a long stay at the hospital.  While her body is trying to recover and simultaneously fight off the cancer, she will undoubtedly need time off work and her side jobs for supplemental income.  In addition to regular bills, she will have to incur large medical bills, after a medical leave that will leave her with a financial gap to fill.

Our number one goal is to help lighten the mental and emotional burden of the financial responsibilities Angela will have over the next few months during her treatment. It is our time now, to help Angela and give to her as she has given to so many others and our community as a whole.
